SUPPOSE NO ROSE (for Cory)

Strip it from all referents.
Eliminate its liaison to love.
Erase its scent.
Remove all that it does.

Suppose it never was.

The question this will pose:
“What is ode to rose?”

from happening at once;
prevents collapse, disaster.

speed and range—time’s
running out, and faster.
